Tyre Couplings

Tyre couplingings is a flexible shaft couplings that connects two rotating shafts, using a rubber or synthetic tyre element to transmit torque while absorbing vibrations, shock loads, and significant misalignment (axial, parallel and angular). These lubrication free couplings are highly elastic and used to protect machinery in demping application like mining, pumps and conveyors.

Structure

Tyre couplings consists of two cast iron flange hub connected by a flexible rubber tyre element used to prevent shock loads and vibration absorbing and high damping capacity.

Flexibility

Flexibility and toraional resilience is the key feture of Tyre couplings misalignment tolerance can handle up to 4 degree angular, 4mm parallel and 5mm end float misalignment, depending on size.

Maintanance

Tyre couplings are relatively easy to install and maintain, requiring minimum downtime for servicing. There are no moving metal to metal parts rubbing together, it require zero lublrication. The tyre elements features a radial split can replace the rubber tyre without moving driver of driven elements.
